Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri is an Indian actress who has gained notoriety for her roles in the film Hum Aapke Hin Koun as well as Beta Saajan. She started her career in early 1980s. The character she played in Tezaab Anil Kapoor in the film Tezaab earned her an enormous amount of attention. In the following film, she starred in the film Dil in which she shared the screen with Aamir Khan. The daughter of a middle class family in Mumbai she began learning to dance as a child. As a young woman, she started acting but had a difficult time as a majority of her films were flops. However, she eventually achieved success and was able to establish herself as one of the best actors in the Indian industry of film. The actress took a break from acting following her marriage before returning to the industry of entertainment. She recently was the main character in Gulaab Gang about Indian women. Dixit received 15 nominations to win Filmfare Awards. She won eight of the awards. Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian prize awarded to civilians in India has been bestowed on Dixit. Her contribution to the social sector is well-known.
